“Snowbound Swamp Series”. Candice painted these two Louisiana swamp scenes in oils during the recent southern snowstorm, next to the warm glow of her fireplace.

"It felt oddly soothing to capture lush magnolias and a solitary pelican in moss-draped trees, all while the snow piled outside. In each brushstroke, I found a quiet refuge—a humid, green world of my own making, born from the heart of a winter storm. There’s something strangely comforting about creating a scene of southern heat and humidity during an almost unprecedented southern winter storm. It’s like holding onto a summer memory, even when the world outside is buried in white."
