Collection: Calcasieu Marine (CM) / Capital One Tower Collection

Capture a piece of history today.   Each framed piece comes with a CM / Capital One glass shard collected from the grounds after a hurricane damaged the facility.

The CM / Capital One Tower in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a significant landmark and the tallest building in the city. Construction of the 22-story, 375-foot-tall tower began in 1981, and it was completed in 1983 at a cost of ~$45 million. Originally named the CM Tower after the Calcasieu Marine National Bank, it later became the Hibernia Tower following Hibernia Bank's acquisition of the original bank. In 2005, it was renamed the Capital One Tower after Capital One Bank acquired Hibernia Bank.

The tower sustained severe damage from Hurricane Laura in August 2020, which led to the building being vacated and left in disrepair. Most of the windows were blown out, and the south side of the building was extensively damaged. Since then, there have been ongoing discussions about its future, with plans for repair and reconstruction being considered.

According to local news sources, the Capital One Tower is set to implode on the morning of Sept. 7, 2024.
