Ah, the BEE. 

This week I’ve been working on this piece in the high desert of Northern New Mexico. It’s got Metallics and gold dust in the details!

As I surround myself with nature I look around and listen to a calling to the paper for the next piece. All day there is a buzzing, a calling.

Back when I started the Fleur de lis Series I didn’t realize the bee and the symbol were so connected. I started researching and to my surprise the spiritual meaning resonates with me and my work.

“The symbol is a legend in itself - a lasting emblem of royalty, power, honor, grandeur, faith and unity. It is written that an angel descended from heaven with the Holy Ampulla in the shape of a fleur-de-lis when King Clovis of France was proclaimed. It thus signified the French kings' direct link to God
