"Contraband Days" is a Fleur de Lis design by Candice Alexander that features a map background with central pirate fleur complete with sword, parrot, and Jean Lafitte pistols; this piece was commissioned by the board of directors to celebrate one of the Largest Festivals in Louisiana, Contraband Days.
Contraband Days began in 1957 and had subsequently become the largest festival in Louisiana spanning 12 full days. This festival was held in Lake Charles and was a staple event in the Southern culture.
