8" Mini Statue with Log

This miniature statue of Servant of God Charlene Richard, affectionately known as the “Little Cajun Saint,” captures the simplicity and humility of the young Louisiana girl whose extraordinary faith continues to inspire generations. Charlene died at only 12 years old in 1959 after being diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia. During her final days, she became known for offering her suffering and prayers for others.

The sculpture portrays Charlene as she might have appeared in everyday life—a young Cajun girl seated quietly, dressed modestly, with softly curled hair and a small cross resting over her heart. In her hands she holds a Holy Bible, a symbol of the faith that became central to her remarkable story.

Finished in deep teal with warm bronze highlights, the piece has the character of an aged devotional bronze while retaining the intimate, handmade quality of a small sacred keepsake. The sculpted folds of her dress, delicate features, clasped hands, and simple shoes reinforce the innocence and ordinary childhood from which an extraordinary story of faith emerged.

More than a portrait, this miniature is intended as a quiet reminder of faith, courage, humility, and prayer for others—the qualities for which Charlene is remembered throughout Louisiana and beyond.
